S. Venkatesam is generally known as Sam. He was an engineer, a war veteran of Indian Air Force, an avionics designer, a corporate director and a forestry champion for over five decades. Many professional achievements and a six million dollar venture capital fund at the age of 68 for a Power from Trees project are the highlights of his career. He has written four books of fiction in the genre of espionage/thriller and they are at various stages of publishing.His extensive travels while holding senior positions of responsibility across many countries spurred his interest in becoming a writer. Mulk Raj Anand (12 December 1905 – 28 September 2004) was an Indian writer in English, notable for his depiction of the lives of the poorer castes in traditional Indian society. One of the pioneers of Indo-Anglian fiction, he, together with R. K. Narayan, Ahmad Ali and Raja Rao, was one of the first India-based writers in English to gain an International readership.
