Sixty-five-year-old Vinod Kumar Nagpal is a retired dy. general manager of a nationalized bank. He lives in Vadodara, Gujarat. He was born and brought up in Rewari, Haryana. He is a voracious reader and is also a keen observer of the body language and behavioral patterns of human beings. He loves Mother Nature, wants to know more about spiritualism as well as philosophy, and is always eager to know the real purpose of life. Though he has been writing about the philosophy of life and poetry since he was eighteen, Lessons Unlearned is his debut book. He got the inspiration for his book from his father when he told him about the true story of a Hindu girl who was abducted at the time of partition, when her family was running away from Western Punjab to Eastern Punjab to save their lives.
