Dr V T Krishnadas Menon is a doctor by profession and a public health specialist. He was born and brought up in Kolkata where he did his MBBS and then went on to do his postgraduation in Community Medicine. He worked as TB medical officer in Pariyaram Medical College, Kerala before joining the World Health Organization where he worked for nearly eight years in Bihar and Jharkhand. He was the resident surveillance medical officer of Pakur, Jharkhand which had the second largest number of cases in India in 2010. He also detected the last case of P3 wild polio virus in India.
