Githa Hariharan

Githa Hariharan (born 1954) is an Indian writer based in New Delhi. Her first novel, The Thousand Faces of Night, won the Commonwealth Writers' Prize for the best first novel in 1993. Her other works include the short story collection The Art of Dying(1993); the novels The Ghosts of Vasu Master (1994), When Dreams Travel (1999), In Times of Siege(2003), Fugitive Histories(2009) and I Have Become the Tide (2019) and a collection of essays entitled Almost Home: Cities and Other Places (2014). Meena Alexander

Meena Alexander (17 February 1951 – 21 November 2018)was an Indian poet, scholar, and writer.Born in Allahabad, India, and raised in India and Sudan, Alexander lived and worked in New York City, where she was Distinguished Professor of English at Hunter College and at the CUNY Graduate Center in the PhD program in English.Meena Alexander, described as "undoubtedly one of the finest poets of contemporary times" by The Statesman was born into a Syrian Christian family from Kerala, South India.She lived in Allahabad and Kerala until she was almost five when her father's work—as a scientist for the Indian government—took the family to Khartoum in newly independent Sudan. P. Sivakami

P.Sivagami (born 30 November 1957) is an Indian Dalit-Feminist writer, former IAS officer and activist predominantly writing in Tamil. Her notable works include Pazhayani Kazhidalum, Kurruku Vettu, Nalum Thodarum and Kadaisi Mandhar. Apart from being one of the most prominent Dalit novelists in India, she has also constantly voiced her opinions on contemporary social and political issues.An author of four novels, P. Sujatha Gidla is an Indian-American author. Gidla is known for her book Ants Among Elephants: An Untouchable Family and the Making of Modern India. She was born in Andhra Pradesh and moved to the United States in 1990, when she was 26 years old. She now lives in New York and works as a conductor on the New York City Subway.Sujatha Gidla was raised in the Dalit community of Kakinada, a small town in present-day Andhra Pradesh.
